‘After Ehud came Shamgar son of Anath, who struck down six hundred Philistines with an Ox goad. He too saved Israel’.
(Judges 3:31)
(Judges 3:31)
Most of you probably haven’t even heard of Shamgar. He is an unsung warrior whose whole life is reduced to one sentence and a powerful one too.
Below are Shamgar’s Secrets
· He was ready when God needed him – He obeyed God
· He used what he already had
o Shamgar used an Ox goad (a long wooden staff with a steel tip used to prod oxen) but God used it for his Glory to deliver children of Israel.
o We all have gifts that God has given to us. Some gifts could be insignificant while others let us stand under the lime light.
o Contribute to God’s work with your unique gift. It is very important that you don’t compare your gift with those of others
The bible says we are to ‘be prepared in season and out of season’ (2Tim 4:2) Even though it looks like nothing is happening, be prepared (Shamgar was) because your season will change and the opportunity to act will suddenly present itself.
Know what your ‘Ox goad’ is, use it and God will bless it.

"Some gifts could be insignificant while others...." hmmm, i dare to disagree.
Every gift is significant for the particular purpose (which differs one person's from the other) one is called.
The problem is, everyones 'ox goad' may not be so conspicuous as others.
Nice one, a call to be observant to His every call.
