The Refined Me

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

Presented by Ayodeji Olorunnisola
Where is the line that differentiates the pastor from the politician; where is the line distinguishing the saved from the unsaved? What happened to the days where you could distinctly tell the beliefs and very character of a person from their actions and daily life? What happened to the lucid reflection of the Spirit within us?
Genesis 1 vs. 27 - So God created man in His own image.
You walk into the church and the conversations between young people, the look/dress code of the Christian, the seeds planted by the looks between opposite sexes is nothing different than what you would find in the club on Saturday night.
So how are we a reflection of Him?

The reverence given to the Lord has been lost…Full time ‘Epistleship of Christ’ is gone.
The Christian has gotten so comfortable in the mediocre walk and the curse of conformation that the God they claim to serve has also taken that personality in their lives. The God of the Red Sea is drowning under the tide of indifference, The God of Mt. Carmel now flickers in the wind of inconsistency. The God of Calvary now hides behind the cross. What a shame!
If we ever want to find the God called “I AM” again, we must return, we must find ourselves again. And the Journey starts now with the WWF
Joshua 1 vs. 6 – 9,5 – Be strong and of Good Courage
An Uncompromising Will.
.
The life of the Christian is not one of ease. It is one filled with difficult decisions and unyielding pressure. But you must have a strong conviction and a thoroughly single-minded approach to life. To better understand this, let us learn from Daniel.
In Daniel 1 vs 3 – 16, “Children chosen by the King…” and also Daniel 6 vs. 7 – 11; “All have come together to make a decree…”
Per the Chapter, everyone had conformed to this decree that had the people worshipping man and not God. But what did Daniel do, he stood on His strong conviction in God. Some wonder how does this affect them? The decree of the world now on the modern young Christian is to get drunk on weekends, lose your chastity before marriage and even loosely enjoy ourselves in the arms of as many different lovers, carry a foul tongue and generally revel in the folly of youth. So tell me, do we conform or are we separate?
An uncompromising Walk.
Jer. 35 vs. 1 – 6 – The Rechabites.
The laws of God our father are clear and straightforward but we have a hard time obeying them. From coveting, to keeping the Sabbath day holy; from adultery and fornication to calling our God’s name in vain. We are guilty of all of it, but that is not even the problem, because His Grace will redeem us. The issue is that we have made these things a habit and a very part of our culture and that is truly frightening. We need to make a conscious effort to lead a righteous life even when the rest of the world isn’t. It is the only way to invite the presence of God into our lives.
Psalm 1 vs 1 – 3 – Delight in the law of the Lord.
Numbers 12 vs. 6 – 9 – Moses is faithful in the whole house of God.
When you are faithful to God, abiding by all His rules, when you delight in the laws of the Lord He will fight your battles for you and never leave you alone. And truly, you will receive blessings beyond measure.
An uncompromising Faith.
Psalm 23 vs. 4 Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil. Fear is a terrible thing, one of the favorite weapons of the devil and we must totally conquer it. In Exodus 13 vs 21 – 22, it says the Lord went before them as a Pillar of Fire by night and a Pillar of Cloud by day and He NEVER took it away. Do you not believe that this sam Pillars surround you? A faithless Christian is a dead Christian.
Staying with Exodus,
Exodus 14; 10 – 14; The God of the Red Sea.
Stand and see the deliverance of the Lord
Is 46 vs. 9-11 – Remember the things of Old, I have purposed it, it will come to pass.
